Where can I find a good handyman to cut my butcher block counter top on a 45 degree angle…and for a sink? ?

I have 2 Ikea Numerar counter tops in oak butcher block that has finished edges. I need someone to cut a clean edge 45 degree angle and another clean edge hole for an undermount sink. I live in north Toronto and need a reputable person to do this in my area…Home Depot and the other stores like that, only cut their own merchandise bought from them. Thanks.

Your best bet is to contact a countertop fabricator, specifically one who has a postform saw- – -a huge machine used to cut mitres and blanks. This will give the cleanest cut. Our company prefers not to cut butcher block tops because of the liability we incur if for some reason it becomes damaged.

As for the sink, you will need to drop off the sink and template at the fabricators. If they can run it on their CNC, this will be the cleanest cut. The cutout will then need to be finished at the jobsite.

Hope that gets you on the right track!
